The Chinese authorities have imposed travel restrictions and quarantine requirements to prevent the spread of the virus within China, which may change without notice. Ensure you are aware of any restrictions that may affect you, and follow the instructions of the Chinese authorities.

For information on countries and territories which have COVID-19 related border restrictions affecting foreign nationals, including travellers in transit, please check the International Air Transport Association (IATA) website before you travel.  IATA provides a comprehensive list of all countries and territories that have imposed COVID-19 related border restrictions and is being continually updated.

New Zealand's Ministry of Foreign and Affairs and Trade provides the latest information on travel advisories at https://www.safetravel.govt.nz/china

Please note: all travellers returning to New Zealand are subject to a mandatory 14-day stay at a Government-managed hotel. Managed isolation charges for those returning to New Zealand have come into force. Find out more here.

In addition, Air New Zealand continues to operate a reduced network for international operations through to 24 October 2020. More information here.
